BINTULU: The contracts between Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) and three private companies for four projects that cost some RM5.8 million were signed at Wisma BDA on 22nd February 2006.

BDA General Manager, Mohidin Ishak who signed the contracts expressed his hope of seeing the projects carried out smoothly, adding that the projects were important for putting Bintulu on the right track to achieve a city status by 2020.

“I hope all the contractors can complete the projects on schedule,” he said.

One of the companies that signed the contract was Letrik Synergy Sdn Bhd represented by its executive director, Azman Bujang.

Letrik Synergy’s contract involves the construction of 11KV switchgears; transformers and ancillaries for phase two of Kemena Industrial Estate cost of about RM2.3 million. The job is scheduled to be complete within six months.

The second contract was given to Hock Ngie Seng Construction Sdn Bhd that was presented by the manager, Lee Chen Ann, at the signing ceremony.

The will construct food stalls at Pantai Temasya in Tanjung Batu at a cost of RM575,079 within six months.

As for Victory Ocean Construction Sdn Bhd (represented by its executive chairman John Phang Nam Yong), it has contracts for two projects.

One is a RM517,208 road to Rumah Mulok and Rumah Lagan by Jalan Bintulu-Tatau which should be completed within four months.

The other project is the construction of a workshop and store, landscaping and associated works at Perbinda at a cost of RM2.5 million to be completed within 10 months.

Also present at the signing ceremony were the Special Personal Assistant for Bintulu MP, Teo Ho Peng, Deputy General Manager of BDA, William Pu, Senior Manager (Legal Affair), Siti Aishah Othman and others BDA officials.
