Bintulu is the second town after Kuching City to implement the ISWMS and the branch is the first branch set up under the umbrella of trinekens (Sarawak) Sdb. Bhd.

The ISWMS(Integrated Solid Wastes Management System) is a modern system of waste management, which employs environmentaly-friendly technology in collection, transportation and disposal of domestic and commercial waste in Bintulu.

Under the system, all domestic and commercial wastes in Bintulu will be collected and transported by SWM sdn. Bhd's partner and operating company, Trienekens(Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd., either direct to the landfill for sorting, treatment and disposal or to a transit station for sorting or segregation before being disposed of at the respective disposal facilities. The scheduled and hazardous wastes are to be collected and transported to Kuching Integrated Waste Management Park at Mambong for treatment and disposal.

BDA General Manager Tuan Hj Mohidin Ishak also disclosed the BDA would be utilising the fund allocated by federal goverment under 8th Malaysia Plan to construct a 300-acre, modern sanitary landfill site in Kidurong. and disposal. Mohidin assured there was no extra burden for rate payers through the implementation of the new system for the collection of domestic wastes.

Trienekens also announced that with the implementation of the system the collection schedule will be twice weekly with effect from August 1. The twice-a-week collection would allow for optimisation and sustainability of the system while maintaining highest the hygienic standard.
