The Bintulu Post Office

TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES   Syarikat Telekom Malaysia Berhad is one of the main services provider for telecommunication infrastructure in Bintulu. It has two fully digital exchanges in Bintulu town and Tanjung Kidurong which can serve up to 25,000 customers of which 15,000 lines are in operational and is capable of providing voice and high speed data. All networks are link via fibre optic cables either to the street or direct to office. Additional networks are being planned to meet the increasing demand in Bintulu. There is also other remote digital exchanges like Kampung Jepak which can serve up to 1000 customers.   Apart from telephones and data services, Telekom Malaysia also offers Intergrated Service Digital Network (ISDN) which is capable of sending both voice and data services simultaneously. Services which can be connected via ISDN includes Video Conferencing which Sarawak Shell have been using and also for internet connection.   Other telecommunication facilities available includes cellular, telex, trunk radio, telegrams, phonograms, telefax, payphones and others which can connect you to the rest of the world within just a second. Bintulu is connected to both major and minor cities and towns in Malaysia and to the rest of the world via Fibre Optic cable and Digital Microwave link. Top   POSTAL SERVICES   Postal services are the responsibility of Pos Malaysia Berhad. There are currently two post offices in Bintulu. The main one is around Bintulu town while the other is at Kidurong Township. Besides the two main offices, there are two mini-post offices, one in Bintulu town centre and the other one at Medan Jaya Commercial Centre(at Medan Jaya bus terminal. Top
