Hygiene top priority for three Ramadan bazaars in Bintulu

Bintulu: Food stalls at three Ramadan bazaars-Bintulu Esplanade, Assyakirin Commercial Centre and Kidurong Sport Centre-have been reminded to make food hygiene top priority.

Bintulu Resident Muhamad Yakup Kari said cleanliness is of paramount importance when it comes to food and beverages, with a direct repercussion connection to their businesses.

“So I urge the cooperation of all parties, please make sure the emphasized at all times. The profits will surely come as it has significant connection with hygiene,” he said when speaking during the official opening of Ramadan bazaar at Bintulu Esplanade yesterday.

Yakup also hoped the local authorities of the Health Department will conduct regular inspection at the stalls selling food and drinks.

The Ramadan month he said, is a blessing for everyone and it is up to them to explore the space and opportunity provided.

“I would like to thank Bintulu Development Authority(BDA) for its effort in providing facilities for the people to do business,” he said.

Meanwhile, BDA Environment Section senior manager Wan Ibrahim Wan Ali said for this year, three locations were provided, namely at Bintulu Esplanade, Assyakirin Commercial Centre and Kidurong Sport Centre. These bazaars will operate from June 29 until July 27.

‘Fr this year, we received a very good response especially at the Assyakirin bazaar with 68 stalls although the space is quite limited,”he said and urged all stall operators there to observed good hygiene in food handling.
