Bintulu all set for Tanglung Carnival 2014

Bintulu Resident Muhamad Yakup Kari and the Federation of Registered Chinese Association Bintulu (Forca) advisor Datuk Pau Chiong Ung are scheduled to launch the Bintulu Food Festival and Children Talent Contest at 7pm today.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem and wife Puan Sri Dato Jamilah Anu are expected to launch the carnival tomorrow and flag off the ‘Maju Sarawak Night Run’.

On Saturday, there would be a parade and state-level lion dance competition, beginning at 6.30pm, and it would be officiated by Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The Modern and Creative Dance competition will take centre stage on Sunday, and Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing is scheduled to bring the carnival to a close on Monday.

Forca Bintulu chairman Dr Wong Aik Loung, who chaired the final meeting of the main organising committee on Tuesday, called for close cooperation among all parties involved in the carnival.
