BINTULU: Newly-minted Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) general manager Rodziah Morshidi intends to constantly feel the pulse on the ground, including addressing complaints on Facebook and Twitters, in order to serve the people better.

To turn BDA into a dynamic entity that is able to provide top-class service, she wanted her staff to work as a team and to continually improve their skills and knowledge.

A caring attitude among the staff, she added, would be a bonus.

“No organisation is able to achieve something by working alone. I will strive to create a more cheerful working environment as a means to increase staff productivity,” she said during a welcoming dinner for her at Parkcity Everly Hotel on Saturday.

Rodziah, who reported for duty as BDA’s first woman general manager last April 7, noted that the structure of BDA’s human resources had not changed much over the years.

She told those present that Bintulu was developing fast and expectations from the ever-growing population were high, too.

Hence, there was an urgent need to provide quality services to keep complaints at bay.

“BDA is lucky to have a world-class facility, but there is a need to serve the public better.

“I will also be monitoring complaints on the social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, in order to improve our services.”

Present were Bintulu Resident Muhamad Yakup Kari, MLNG Group of Companies chief executive officer Zakaria Kasah and Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad chief executive officer Dato Mior Ahmad Baiti Mior Lub Ahmad.
