BINTULU: The upgrading of food stalls at Tanjung Batu Beach costing RM1,042,865 million will add space for stall operators to conduct their business and attract more visitors.

Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) general manager Rodziah Morshidi said the upgrading project is being carried out by Eastern Park Sdn Bhd.

The construction started on March 29 and it is expected to be completed in August.

She said this at the handing over of the project site ceremony yesterday.

Once completed, the refurbished facility would have 18 new stalls for the comfort and convenience of stall operators and customers.

“This is a popular spot both for locals and tourists, it is such a natural beauty by itself.

“So please take care of this place especially in terms of cleanliness, this is a place for you to earn a living, BDA is just providing the space for you to do business,” said Rodziah.

“BDA is listening to the needs of local traders, this is only the first phase, the upgrading work will be carried out from time to time,” she added.

Rodziah proposed that more competitions or events like busking are held at Tanjung Batu Beach as it is such a beautiful place for recreational activities.

She said BDA will facilitate these activities to further promote the place.
