Recoda board of directors meet in Bintulu

BINTULU: The Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) held its ninth board of directors meeting here on Thursday chaired by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

This marked the first time Recoda – the leading agency in the development of Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) – held its board of directors meeting outside Kuching.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of SCORE, which was launched in Bintulu on Feb 11, 2008.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister, who is also Recoda chairman, and the board of directors deliberated on numerous issues ranging from policy to administrative matters.

He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude and appreciation to the previous CEO Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot and welcomed new CEO Datu Ismawi Ismuni, who is former Deputy State Secretary (Socio-Economic Transformation).

In attendance were board members Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah, who is also Highland Development Agency (HDA) chairman, and Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing, who is chairman of Upper Rajang Development Agency (Urda).

Other board members present included Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, Datu Junaidi Reduan – representative to the State Financial Secretary, Deputy State Secretary Datu Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) CEO Datuk Azman Mahmud, and State Planning Unit director Buckland Bangik.

Also present were Datuk Dayang Sadiah Abang Bohan – the representative from the Public Private Partnership Unit, Mohd Saiful Sungkih Abdullah – the representative from the Ministry of Finance, and Ahmad Zamri Khairuddin – the representative from the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department.

In conjunction with the meeting, the Recoda board of directors visited several places in Samalaju Industrial Park, namely Samalaju Industrial Port and the manufacturing facilities of Ocim Sdn Bhd and OM Material (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd.
