BINTULU: The onus is upon Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) to ensure continuous prosperity of this division.

In stating this, political secretary to chief minister Tan Kai regards the authority as the ‘main engine of growth for this oil and gas town’, in view of it being the government’s key agency entrusted to look after the planning and development of Bintulu.

“Thus, BDA needs the support and cooperation from the public to ensure the (continuation of) prosperity and also to give confidence to the industry players, especially (those) in oil and gas (sector).

“Bintulu is not just an industrial city, but (it is) also a liveable city with soul and high morale,” he said during the Bintulu Townhall 2019 programme on Sunday.

Tan also highlighted the importance of attracting investors and working professionals to not only explore and work in Bintulu, but also to enjoy living here. With respect to this, he commended the BDA for its effective anti-litterbugs campaign which was launched last year.
