BINTULU: Only two per cent of eatery operators here are not complying with the movement control order (MCO); they allowed their customers to dine-in for breakfast yesterday morning.

Out of 536 registered eateries here, about 98 per cent of them are complying with the order, said a spokesman from Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) Enforcement Section.

He said about 40 enforcement personnel from BDA and Bintulu Health Office conducted the compliance inspection yesterday following the MCO.

“We have reprimanded and advised the traders to comply, and we gave them time to follow the order to close premises for dine-in from today (March 18) until 31,” he said.

Meanwhile, observations at several eateries in town, found that notices were put up to inform their customers that they only open for takeaways.
